Hey, guys, Dr. A here with Optimal Brain. Today, I want to discuss a device that I've been using quite extensively personally, but also with a lot of my patients, and it's for vagal stimulation. Now, there's a lot of technology we can use for vagal stimulation. From breath work to gargling and so on and so forth.
But we can also use electric stimulation for the vagus nerve and I find it to be very efficient. And so what I'd like to talk to you guys about today is the Nurosym. Now Nurosym has been for me super effective and I've been recommending it as the top one vagal stimulation device for pretty much all my patients.
And there's a couple of reasons for this. One, it's very practical. So vagal stimulation can be done on the neck. You've probably seen electric stimulation devices for the laryngeal pharyngeal branches right here, like the Pulsetto and other elements, but you need gel and it's messy and all this kind of stuff.
Whereas the Nurosym will do the same thing, but in the auricular branch on the Contra right here. And the nice part is that you can basically place this and stimulate your vagus nerve and actually, of course, bonus points if you keep doing breath work or meditation, but you can also use it in daily activity.
If you're working, doing emails, cooking moving around the house etc. So I find it, very efficient and very usable for all my patients because not everybody has an hour, 90 minutes or plus to just sit and meditate and stimulate vagal activity. So this is super helpful. Now I want to also make a point that when you purchase a Nurosym, you will always get an earpiece, but this earpiece is always for the left ear.
You can use it for both, but it's more comfortable on the left. And important to note is if you guys are also working on brain balancing, then understand that left ear auricular branch vagal stimulation will basically stimulate your left brain, which is good if you're looking for more energy and looking for, a little bit accelerating the gas pedal.
But I personally find using the Nurosym on my right ear for right hemispheric stimulation much more comfortable because the right brain is also putting on the brake. So for me, I find that very helpful. And what many don't know is that Nurosym offers a right ear stimulation, earpiece.
So if you're purchasing a Nurosym, just keep that in mind. I always recommend my patients to do both sides. If you're unsure, if you have a hemispheric dominance pattern or a one-sided brain deficiency, which is something that you can look at with a functional neurologist for example. But if you're unsure about that, then I always typically recommend to stimulate both ears, so if you stimulate today, the left, maybe the next time stimulate the right, but also feel into what feels better for you, which one is more calming, which one relaxes you more. For me, the right side, I always have a big sigh. I tend to relax much quicker. Left for me is more stimulating, but everybody's different.
So again, if you're looking for a really awesome vagal stimulation device that is super easy to use. Very effective and you can use it for prolonged periods of time. Nurosym recommends 60, 90 minutes a day, and I would concur with that recommendation. Then something like the Nurosym is an absolute game changer.
